How we hire
How to vet a LATAM engineer's communication (not just their code)
July 30, 20265 min read

Founders rarely say it out loud, but the real worry about remote hiring isn't technical ability — it's whether the person can explain a tradeoff, push back on a bad idea, and write a clear PR description in English.
What we screen for
- Spoken fluency under real conditions — a live technical conversation, not a scripted intro
- Written clarity — how they document decisions and disagree in writing
- Async judgment — knowing when to unblock themselves vs. raise a flag
Code you can test with an exercise. Communication you have to observe. That's why a person — not a form — sits in every final review.
